BUSTER KEATON RETURNS IN
GO WEST
BILL O'MEARA ACCOMPANYING
WITH SPECIAL GUEST RYAN BARNETT INTRODUCING HIS NEWLY PUBLISHED GRAPHIC NOVEL BUSTER KEATON A LIFE IN PICTURES
Buster Keaton’s inventive visual humour is at it again in this memorable blend of deadpan darkness and spectacular comic set pieces. Buster decides to “Go West Young Man” and finds ranch work is a lot different than expected. He blunders through every task and is shunned by his fellow cowpokes. That is until a sweet but lonely cow, called Brown Eyes, becomes his constant companion and best friend. Buster must then devise a way to save her when she seems destined to become burgers. The resulting breathtaking climax has him in the centre of a cattle stampede through the streets of LA in a classic laugh-a-second Buster Keaton sequence.
Introduced by Comedy Programmer Chris Seguin

Special guest Ryan Barnett, author of the exciting new graphic biography Buster: A Life in Pictures will be on hand to sign his books and talk about the influence Buster Keaton has had on his life. The graphic novel weaves together all the triumphs, close calls, near misses and broken ones that defined his life and career and who influenced everyone from Salvador Dalí and Walt Disney to Wes Anderson and Jackie Chan."

Long-thought lost, and now recently re-discovered and restored, this 1919 silent film is the first American film adaptation of Sholem Aleichen's Tevye stories, famously brought to life in Fiddler on the Roof. This film focuses not on Tevye the Milkman, but on his daughter Khava, who falls in love with the gentile boy Fedka.
